Dear Joan & family,

I'm from the Ontario era of Paul's life; my apartment was around the corner from the Buchbinders'. I left the Ontario in 1980, when I got married and became the stepfather of two. Paul and I never became close friends, but he was a good neighbor. I remember how helpful he was to Mr. Barnes (how did that name come back to me?), the elderly gentleman who lived across the hall from the Buchbinders. Paul will live on in my memory.

Joan,

I'm in Florida now, so it took a bit of time to get the news of Paul's passing. I knew Paul as his client for almost 40 years and as with most of us, it was not long before a friendhip developed.

It was he who introduced many of us to "Mrs. Foggybottom" and I became a avid fan. He will be sorely missed not only for his enthusiasm but also his warmth and affability.

You have my sincere condolences. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you mourn his loss.

Joan,
Paul lives on in my memory of life at the Ontario. He was a big part of the spirit of the building. His fast red cars, his love of life. That energy and humor always lifted me up whenever I saw him! My thoughts are with you and Ben and family.

My Dear Joan,

I was so sad to hear of Paul's death and please know I am thinking of you.

Dear Joan, Christopher and Ben,

All my memories of Paul are wonderful. Even though I haven't had the opportunity to see y'all since I moved from the DC area in 1999, Paul has always had a special place in my heart. We met in 1969 and I knew his parents also, especially his father.

Joan, I only met you a couple of time at your performances, I wish we had the opportunity to know each other better.

Christopher, just to let you know who I am - my daughter Mandy (Amanda) and I lived on the South side of Ontario Road when you were a small boy.

My prayers are with each of you.
Sincerely,
Beverly Brookshire

Joan, Ben, and Christopher,
Bonnie and I have such fond memories of our time with Paul after Obama's Inaugural concert. We were so cold from the concert but were warmed so well by Paul's favorite chili and your welcoming home. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all tomorrow. Pat and Bonnie.

I thought about Paul on October 30th, his 68th birthday, and as I did every year. So this news comes as a shock. My heartfelt hugs to you, Joan, Christopher and Ben and to the grandchildren as well.

Joan,Christopher and Ben,
John and I are so sorry to hear this. We've been in the architecture and design community in DC for many years and "grew up" working with Paul and the Buchbinder team. Such great memories! Paul is loved and respected and will be truly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
