To the Perito family: Saddened to hear of your loss. In the research and reporting for my book MORGENTHAU, Mr. Perito gave generously of his time and memories. His recollections were vivid and invariably accurate, and alongside so many of his fellow illustrious veterans of the Morgenthau years in the Southern District, made the book all the stronger. Please accept my sympathies. Andrew Meier
