Loving father of Peter Phillips Donohoe and Meaghan Guthrie Donohoe, passed away on September 28, 2005. Anyone who knew him, knew of his wonderful friendly spirit. A man who could light up a room, he will be sorely missed. Born September 10, 1949 to Paul and Doris Donohoe, he was a fifth generation Washingtonian. Proud of his heritage he kept in touch with his many aunts, uncles and cousins throughout his life. Married on May 13, 1978 to Mary Phillips on the Banks O'Dee Family Compound, they went on to have two lovely children. Although later divorced, Mary and Peter remained very close friends and family. Peter recently got engaged to his beloved Tamara Chapman Dolton, and they were planning their wedding, but Peter's life was abruptly interrupted, stealing him from our lives but not our hearts. He is also survived by his siblings, Joanie Donohoe, Sue Funkhouser, Barry Donohoe and the late Timothy Donohoe. Peter attended Malvern Prep School in Malvern, PA, then University of Maryland for undergraduate work. He was a highly skilled Real Estate Manager, and spent most of his career in that field. Friends may call at DEMAINE FUNERAL HOME in Alexandria on Saturday, October 1, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 310 S. Royal St., 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 4. Interment will follow at Ivy Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Peter's favorite cause, Food & Friends, 202-269-2277.

The celebrations of Peter's life over the last week have been amazingly beautiful topped by the most beautiful funeral and party at the Donohoes. There was so much love being spread among friends and family connected through Peter. I smile knowing his love will be carried on.
