Peter Greene, M.D.
Departed this life on April 10, 2020. Dr. Greene, a native Washingtonian, was born February 22,1953 to Katherine Karras Greene and Harry Greene (deceased).Dr. Greene graduated from Wesleyan University and Howard University Medical School. He maintained a medical practice with a specialty in Dermatology in Northeast Washington, DC for many years. He was an avid reader and committed scientist. In his earlier years Dr. Greene traveled extensively; and throughout his life remained interested in cultural, science and social issues. Dr. Greene was a strong supporter of the D.C. Recovery Community Alliance. Dr. Greene is survived by his loving daughters Melina M. Greene, Aral C. Greene and his former wife Natalia M. Combs Greene, his Aunt and Uncle Dorothy and Frank Karras, several cousins, and a host of loving and dedicated friends. Those who knew Dr. Greene will remember fondly his quick wit, and dry humor. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

dr greene was the best im just finding out about this he was on my mind because of my allergies and i decided to look him up and make and appointment and i found out he passed im hocked because im going through so many deaths at the moment and to hear of another one wow just blows me away its like a part of me also died with doctor greene i knew hiim since the 9th grade and on into adulthood he was the best derm in the world and im not just sayig that he was the only derm that identified my allegies was causing my skin problems every other derm was just looking at the skin this man was god sent i swear but i know he is up in heaven right know looking down smiling at me saying this but i really respected and loved this man god bless and rest in power u need it and DC misses u badly

I'm so sad to hear about this and very sorry for your loss. I was taken to Dr. Greene when I was a teen for my severe eczema(on Benning Rd). I had seen many other doctors, but no one seemed to know what to do except Dr. Greene. As years passed, I would run into him on occasion while in DC and he never forgot me:-) I am so grateful for the opportunity to have met him.

My deepest sympathies on the passing of your Dad. Peter was another brother to me, and another son to my Mom and Dad. My family loved him fiercely from the time we met in childhood. He was so bright... a walking encyclopedia, a kind and caring spirit, a committed Physician and a loyal friend. He was so proud of you both and I cherish the legacy he leaves in the both of you. Nothing can take away the pain your loss of a father. However you can also celebrate that he was loved by many. I am a Wesleyan graduate and a dermatologist in Maryland. I saw many of your father's patients when he was not available or able to see them when they wanted to be seen. They all adored your father and would tell me that they were thankful for my help but their next appointment was already scheduled with Dr Greene. God will hold your hands and you can share his love.

Sending condolences and prayers of comfort to the families. He was my doctor when his office was on Benning Rd NE. His personality was comical and you just had to learn him to know him. I went up to the bldg to get an appt one day and his office was closed. When you trust a doctor you don't really want a different one. May you rest peacefully "Dear Doctor". Blessings to the family.

We are saddened and stunned to learn of Peter's sudden death. For me he was a fellow Wes alum. For us he was our dermatologist and our friend. We shared good times both at holidays and other times as well as on Benning Rd. Though we cannot now be with you physically to support you, we are with you in spirit and available to help in any way we can. Our sincerest condolences.
