Philip D. Rinaldi  Founder and president of Philip D. Rinaldi Funeral Service P.A.   
Passed away on March 15, 2021 at Holy Cross Hospital. He was 63 years old.He is the son of the late Michael J. Rinaldi and Iris Bostic Rinaldi. Philip graduated from St. John's College High School in Washington, DC. with the class of 1975 before receiving his degree in Funeral Service in 1979 from Miami Dade Community College in Miami, Florida. Following in his father's footsteps, Philip worked in the Rinaldi funeral homes for over 45 years, establishing his current funeral home 20 years ago.He has been a lifelong leader in the community, serving the funeral and bereavement needs of countless families throughout the metropolitan Washington area.Philip was a member and former president of the Kiwanis Club of Silver Spring, Maryland and is also a fourth degree lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.Philip is survived by his loving wife, Deborah J. Rinaldi, their son, Philip, and their daughter, Gina. He is also survived by his brother, Michael J. Rinaldi II, sisters, Mary Linda Ponticelli, Catherine A. Statuti, and Christina E. Canfield, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.A visitation will be held at St. Camillus Catholic Church on Monday, March 22, 2021 beginning at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. St. Camillus Catholic Church is located at 1600 St. Camillus Drive, Silver Spring, Maryland 20903. Following the funeral service, entombment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum.Please keep in mind that all COVID-19 restrictions and safety precautions will be taken during the visitation hour and funeral service. Masks will be required. For those who cannot attend in person, the funeral service will be livestreamed by St. Camillus Catholic Church at: https://youtu.be/0dzFXGOSIpk In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the St. Camillus Food Pantry or St. Francis Emergency Fund: Langley Park at: https://www.stcamilluschurch.org/

Phil was a true friend I meet at Miami-Dade Community College. We shared many good times together. He was always kind and willing to help if needed. He was a true honorable person and his professionalism was to the highest ethical standards. Rest In Peace my good friend.

Sadly, our daughter was stillborn in December 2020. Mr. Rinaldi organized her transportation from the hospital and gave us a visitation with her before her cremation. He waived all fees. His kindness during our deepest grief was so meaningful to our family. I was so sorry to read his name in our prayer list of the deceased.
