I was shocked to hear of Preston's passing. I had the priviledge of working for him at 2D and I considered him a true friend. I learned a lot about leadership from him.
I trust that you, his family and friends, will remember the good times that you shared with him and cherish those memories.

I was so saddened and shocked to hear of Preston's untimely passing. Unfortunately I was unable to attend the funeral and just sent a card. Several of his friends here at the National Courts Building attended and gave me some of the details, as well as a copy of the Memorial Service program. I just want you (his family) to know how very much he was thought of and how much he will be missed. I too was born in North Carolina (Pinehurst), and have two grown sons. Preston's good humor, smile, and personality were a big plus in a busy and usually hectic day at court. He will be sorely missed. God Bless You all. With my most sincere deep sympathy. Susan Gundling

I wish to convey my sincere condolence to the Williams family. Preston and I were lieutenants together in 2D and worked the midnight shift. He was a really great guy who could make any laugh and was never without a interesting story to tell. Preston as you know, could go on for hours with stories of his life experiences and never bore you. He was very intelligent individual who shared his knowledge and experience with many younger members of the department. I know his family and friends of MPD will miss the love, laughter and friendship Preston share with us, but please know that God has better plans for him elsewhere. It is my prayer that God will be with the Williams' family and friends during this bereavement.
