Ralph Leslie Stavins

On Wednesday, May 10, 2023, Ralph L. Stavins (age 89) passed away. Beloved husband of Chong H. Chu-Stavins of 30 years; devoted father of the late Sasha Stavins; loving brother of Joel Stavins and the late Dan Stavins; son-in-law of Mu Kang; brother-in-law of Katie and Young Lee, Chongsuk, Myunghee, Maeron; cherished son of the late Evelyn and Arthur Stavins and long-time friend of Miles Beermann.



Ralph Stavins was an accomplished professor, lawyer, and businessman. A native of Chicago, Mr. Stavins graduated from the University of Chicago and the DePaul University of College of Law. Following graduation, Ralph enjoyed his work as a Professor of Political Science at Reed College in Oregon, a former fellow at the Institute of Policy Studies in Washington, DC. and partner of Stavins and Axelrod Properties Inc.



Graveside funeral services will take place on May 15, 2023, 10 a.m. at Judean Memorial Gardens, 16225 Batchellors Forest Rd\., Olney, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to the Brainy Camps Association at www.brainycamps.com. Services entrusted to Sagel Bloomfield Danzansky Goldberg Funeral Care.

I worked for Ralph Stavins for 22 years. Ralph was one of a kind. He and his company Stavins & Axelrod Properties, Inc. has had a major influence on my life. I consider myself lucky to have been employed there.
