Ramola Abhyankar Obituary
It is with sincere regret that we advise you with the death of Ramola S. Abhyankar.
On June 23, 2024 Ramola Abhyankar passed away peacefully in Ashburn, VA. She was born in Kohlapur, India and was a well known and compassionate emergency medicine physician in Washington, DC and Northern Virginia. Ramola loved music and travel. She had a gentle nature and a very sharp wit. She was always known for her trademark warm laugh and friendly spirit. She loved long walks and time in nature.
Ramola is survived by her son Samir Abhyankar; daughter and son-in-law Sabrina and Brandon Schubert; granddaughter Riley and grandson Dylan Schubert; and siblings Anil, Sheela, Ranjit, and their spouses. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sharad Abhyankar, parents Alice and Vishwanath Ranade, and her brother Dilip Ranade.
Memorial Service will be held Thursday June 27, 2024 at 12 p.m. at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home in Fairfax, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Doctors Without Borders.
