Raymond Swentek Obituary

Raymond Harry, born (SWIENTEK) November 18, 1926 - September 22, 2025. A retiree of four branches of the military--Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, and Navy--plus Coast Guard, and 43-year resident of The Carrollsburg in Washington, DC, passed away at the Annandale Healthcare Center at the age of 98. Born in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late Antony and Felicia "Phyllis" (Lacic) Swientek. Predeceased by his first wife, Charmaine (Thompson) Swentek (2007), and then by Betsy (Devenney) Swentek (2013). Father of Guy Swentek (Ann) of Aliso Viejo, California; Scott Swentek (Charlie) of Portland, Oregon; Lamar "Eve" Engelbrite (Peter "Stone") of Flower Mound, Texas; and Todd Swentek (Ruth) of St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada. Grandfather of Sean Swentek (Lourdes) of Orange, California; Jennifer Swentek (Kyle) of Fairplay, Colorado; Andrew Engelbrite of Flower Mound, Texas; Ian Swentek (Frances) of Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada; Heather Swentek of St. Thomas, Ontario; Jocelyn Naus (Adam) of Wallacetown, Ontario; and Stephen Swentek (Kristen) of St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada. Great-Grandfather to Sia, Aria, Tiberius, Adelina, Xzavier, Naomi, Judah, Kessel, Reuben, Jackson, Magnolia, Shepherd, Kyrie, C.J., Micah, and Elijah. Brother of Edward Swientek (deceased) and Eleanor Hipple (Gerry, deceased) of Ventura, California, as well as their children, his nieces and nephews--Jorjean, Cheryl, Jim, Marilee, John, and Krissy. Special thanks to his VA psychologist, Dr. Christine Brown, primary Right at Home worker, Letitia Reeves, and prior building AGM, Angel Nicholson. His burial at Arlington Cemetery is pending.
