REBECCA LITTELL Obituary

REBECCA MOTT LITTELL "Becky"
Passed away peacefully on July 8, 2017 in Tampa, Florida. Her 95 years were full of love for family and friends. A proud Hoosier she grew up in Warren, Indiana where she graduated high school in 1940. She attended Indiana University, graduating in 1944. At IU she belonged to Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority and joined the Women's Auxiliary Training Corps. Becky married IU grad Harry on July 6, 1943. They enjoyed 53 years together. When Harry went to work for the U.S. Senate, the couple moved to Arlington in 1948. Becky remained an Arlington resident for the next 66 years. She was a talented homemaker, seamstress and cook. Her favorite recipes have been collected in the "Littell Family Cookbook." In the late 1970s Becky was an aide in a special needs class at Ashlawn Elementary School and took great joy in nurturing those students. She taught the same lessons of love and acceptance to everyone in her family. She is survived by sons Bill, Bob and Tom; daughter Liz; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. Visitation at Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, VA, Wednesday, August 2, from 3 to 5 p.m. A mass will be said in the chapel at St. Ann's Church, 5300 N. 10th St., Arlington, VA Thursday, August 3, 10:30 a.m. Internment following at Oakwood Cemetery, 401 N.
