REGINALD ANTHONY SANDERS
Died suddenly of a heart attack while jogging on Thursday, June 9, 2011. A native Washingtonian, Reggie was born April 13, 1966. Reggie had a passion for people that was eclipsed only by his passion for Jesus and the love of his life, his wife Dawn. Reggie was preceded in death by his grandparents Leona T. Carter, Robert carter, Sr., and Roberta R. Sanders; one aunt and three uncles. He leaves to celebrate his life, beloved wife Dawn Mann Sanders, parents Benjamin, Jr and Onie Mae Sanders; mother-in-law Eloise Mann; sister Gwendolyn Sanders; sisters-in-law Harriette Moore and Ramona Mann; brothers-in-law Clifford A. Mann, II and Darryl Mann; nephew Corey Sanders-Bush; grandfather Benjamin Sanders, Sr., godmother Margaret C. Boulware. He also leaves a host of other family and friends. Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Glenn Arden, 3600 Brightseat Rd., Landover, MD 20786 on June 17, 2011 beginning with a viewing at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Life Celebration at 11 a.m.

To Minister Dawn, the Sanders, Mann and FBCG Family. THANK YOU for sharing Reggie with us. GOD is so Awesome to create a "Instrument" as Reggie. We loved seeing him sing and direct the Choir, and chaperone his lovely wife Dawn around FBCG. Their union indeed (is) such a Blessing to me. I will Bless the LORD at all times, HIS Praise shall continually be in my mouth. Indeed my Soul shall make her boast in the LORD, for all that HE has done in the life of our Brother Reggie Sanders!!! :)

Although my heart is broken, I am rejoicing that Reggie has found the place that he sung so much about. Reggie was always the guiding light of how we should treat each other. Rejoice my brother Reggie, you are home, in you mansion, and in your white robe.

Reggie was such a bright shining light in the day to day office workings. He knew everyone's name and brought a smile to everyone. Never did I see him without a smile or kind word to say. The world was a better place with Reggie. I wish I would have known him better but heaven is a better place with him. God bless and keep his family in this time of need and know that he has touched many lives.

I celebrate the life of reggie ...we used to sing together at faith united ... reggie's presence in my life will forever be cherished and appreciated... we were able to reconnect on facebook after so many years.....
dawn, may you be comforted in remembering the quiet times, talks, singing songs, writing and proofing the newsletter, holding hands, tight hugs and kisses to the forehead...
remember the way he looked at you when you made his favorite meal, the way he smiled when you said "good morning".. the way he would ask your opinion and go along with your plan of action...
we will never understand why things happen the way they do... but know this... Reggie was chiseled by GOD to fit perfectly in your life...he was cut from a cloth that was a perfect match for you.....you experienced heaven on earth with him... and I am sure when people looked through the window of your marriage - they too experienced heaven on earth..

I used to be in the FBCG choir with Reggie, but I first remember seeing him at a church I attended on C Street in DC years before. He's the type of person that you meet and never forget. Reggie always asked about my singing career and would always say, "I'll be the first to purchase your project". I'll remember him as the energetic choir director who would direct using his fists! lol He was indeed a great person and supporter but most of all he was a firm man of God. To the Sanders: Deacon(Honey)Sanders, Onie( MaMa), Gwen and Dawn, we feel your loss and are immensely saddened at the homegoing of Reggie. We knew Reggie when he accepted Christ as a child and we were there when he preached his trial sermon at Central Baptist Church when he was only a young adult. Reggie matured to be such a wonderful person.He never waived his Faith and stayed true to his purpose that God had for his life. His legacy will live on forever in our hearts. Brother Sanders would direct the
United Voice at "FBCG" just like a drum major for Christ. Many of us
may not have known him personally, however we loved seeing him direct the choir. WOW, he really gave God His all. He was not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I imagine him directing a choir in Heaven, with all his might. May God grant the family peace and bring comfort in knowing that Reginald is now in God's Heavenly Choir.

Dawn - I've already expressed to you our sadness by Reggie's passing. He was truly one of a kind and will be missed by many. He will forever hold a special place in our hearts, not only for his friendship and kindness, but also for great laughs, his positive encouragement, and love for our Lord. One day, when we all get to heaven, I'll look forward to singing in the heavenly choir with and directed by him. My condolences to Reggie’s family, he was a good man. Even on the best of days, when everything was going right, and you felt like the day just could not get any better, Reggie had the ability to make you feel even better than you already did.
He was a rare person who will always be missed, but will never truly be gone – just thinking about him makes you smile. His smile and personality are everlasting.

Reggie was called from labor to reward and we will miss him dearly and that infectious laugh. His positive attitude always brought joy to all those around him. I will always remember how he started off our conversations by first ALWAYS asking about my 2 boys and husband....that was Reggie a man who cared. It is with bitter/sweet emotions that I send these words. While I'm saddened for your loss, I'm also rejoicing knowing with ASSURANCE that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord! That was Reggie's goal - to be present with the Lord! Reggie has reached his goal. For all who love and miss Reggie - honor him by accepting Christ and living to please God our Father. I was so sad to hear of Reggie's sudden death. Reggie was such a special person that no words are adequate. He helped me when I started work in Tower office with any office suppliers that I needed. He even worked through with me in the category book for the choice of back and keyboard supports for my chair and laptop. Reggie bought pleasure to everyone he met at work. He will be sadly missed from my heart.

Reggie has tremendously impacted the lives of many (including my own), through his warm loving heart and generosity, I can't help but smile when I think of him...It was his smile and laughter that I can never forget. Reggie was a hard worker, he never complained, his only mission was to make others feel good. That is a hard task in itself, but now it is evident, that it was his mission here... His heart and love for the people of God will never be forgotten as he truly served the Lord with gladness. Reggie your presence here in the office is missed. Reggie was such a blessing to have as a friend and confidant. He always saw the positive side of a situation and he always offered sound advice. He was always my "go-to" guy when I was frustrated with things, especially life. He was there for me on numerous occasions regardless of what "craziness" I had going on. I am thankful to God for allowing me to know Reggie and form a friendship that will always be. I'm thankful for knowing Reggie because it opened up the opportunity for me to befriend Dawn and see the beauty in her that he saw. I always teased him that noone could ever love her more than him, but I could come close because she is so beautiful to me! Dawn, my heart is aching with yours, but there is so much comfort in knowing that Reggie is in heaven, spreading his wings and giving GOD the glory! His spirit will live on through you and all your goodness...I love you and Reggie I love you and will miss you.

I'll always remember how you recognized everyone in the office by name, especially my own (you made it sound like I was royalty), and how the sound of your laugh would ring down the hallways and remind me to enjoy the office the way you did. You will be missed.
