Renee Francine Poussaint Award Winning Newscaster
(Age 77)
Passed peacefully on March 4, 2022 surrounded by her loving husband of 45 years, Henry Richardson. Renee was a prominent newscaster for ABC News, an advocate for Black's and women's equity and a mentor and role model for many. Service will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ, 5301 North Capitol Street, NE, Washington, DC. Visitation 9 a.m., until time of Service at 11 a.m. Interment Rock Creek Cemetery. Services live streamed at plymouth-ucc.org and www.mcguire-services.com

I am sorry to hear of Renee's passing. She was and continues to be an inspiration for all women who aspire to share news/education and impart life lessons for all to benefit from. She was truly selfless. While studying at American University I enjoyed her impartial and impassioned broadcasts, anticipating news worthy of listening to. I am saddened the next generation of women who are committed making a positive impact on broadcast journalism will not have the benefit of her message, live but fortunately with the internet, her presence will remain. RiP Renee!
