Richard L. Bernardi

Richard Lewis Bernardi died on October 3, 2025. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 26, 1944 and grew up in Mineola, Long Island, NY. Richard moved to this area to attend University of Maryland where he received his undergraduate and MBA graduate degrees. He began his career in housing and community development and then transitioned into the private sector of commercial real estate lending. Over several decades Richard facilitated the founding and growth of multiple community banks. He was a mentor to many people in his field, an avid golfer and passionate about the arts. Richard is survived by his children, Chloe and Ethan Bernardi, his granddaughter, Solei Perez and his first wife, Judith Bernardi.
