Rick was a very loving and giving man. He always had something encouraging and uplifting to say. Rick would take time to listen and share his wisdom especially with young people. He was a tremendous blessing to our family! I would like to express our heartfelt sympathy and condolences to his family!

Rick and I were friends since 6th grade. We attended Brown Jr. High and Armstrong High together. We were Boy Scouts, Explorer Scouts and Sea Scouts. As teens we would attend parties, Cabernets or other events and no matter how late the hour, would find a Catholic Church having mass before we went home. Our mothers often imposed a midnight curfew on us, requiring us to be home. We would often walk and run , because we could travel faster than waiting for a street car to ensure we were home on time. We both served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was the Best Man at my Wedding and I was the Best Man at his. Our mothers taught us to be respectful, loving, considerate and kind. That was very evident in the lasting love he showed Garci. We were like brothers and his passing has left a large void in my life.

Rick was the first kid that I knew growing up outside of my big brother. We grew up next door to each other and became lifetime friends. We would walk to church on Sunday’s and then use our mothers’ bus passes to ride the buses and streetcars al day. We would go to Lincoln Park and test (drink) he water fountains to see if the water was poisoned. We went to school together and were members of the Viscounts Social Club Inc. I attended his wedding in Vermont. He and Garcia made a wonderful couple. So much more I could say. He was one of a kind and will be surely be missed.
