RICHARD CHANDLER

CHANDLER Richard Lyman Chandler January 22, 1947 - October 11, 2018 Richard passed away peacefully at Good Shepherd Hospice in Lakeland, Florida with his wife Susan Pounds Chandler and family by his side. Rich was 71 years old, born in Atlanta, GA and grew up in South Florida. Rich joined the US Navy in 1968 and served on the John F. Kennedy aircraft carrier until 1972 as an Aviation Engineer during the Vietnam War era. He moved to Columbus, Ohio where he married Pamela L. Ward, had his daughter Nicole, graduated from Franklin University and embarked on a life-long career in the Information Technology industry. "Dick's" journey began as a Technical Engineer. Commitment, success and character allowed increasing responsibilities and a allowed increasing responsibilities and a path through the management ranks into executive roles. In 1984 he moved his family to Virginia where his achievements at Stor- age Technology, Sun MicroSystems and Oracle reflected his ability to create success for industry leaders and achieve award winning recognition in sales time and time again. After "retirement" in 2007, Richard positioned Med-Hot Thermal Imaging, as a leader in the medical diagnostic industry. Working with his Sister, Carol Chandler, Med-Hot owner, and brother-in-law David Rosenthal, as a Technical Engineer and Vice President. Rich became a full-time Lakeland resident in 2014 and developed a meaningful relationship with Susan who has loved and cared for him deeply. They married in May 2016 and enjoyed two years of friendship, love and adventure. Rich enjoyed the art and craft of working with his hands and doing a job right, the first time. He was a problem solver, spread sheet master, meticulous planner and organized in every way. Preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Pamela L. Chandler. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Chandler; daughter, Nicole Chandler Ewald (Christopher); grandchildren, Samuel Karl, Zachary Matthew, Kathryn Renee, Ava Kelly, and Caroline Rainy Ewald; sister, Carol Chandler (David Rosenthal); stepson, Alex Musser(Tiffany); best friend - Chuck Mewshaw (Sherry).
