RICHARD NELSON GOODMAN
Died July 28, 2013, in Richmond, VA. Mr. Goodman was preceded by his wife, Kathryn Kirk Goodman. Survivors include a daughter, Laura Goodman Crofford and husband, Alan, of Warrenton, VA; four sons, Richard T. Goodman and partner, John Hurtubise, of Jacksonville, FL, Steven H. Goodman and wife, Betsy, of N. Topsail, NC, W. Scott Goodman and wife, Nancy, of New Kent, VA, and Donald K. Goodman and wife, Anne, of Radford, VA; nine grandchildren, Richard B. Goodman and wife, Melissa, of Jacksonville, FL, Colby M. Goodman of New York, NY, Stephanie Goodman Long and husband, Josh, of Hampstead, NC, Blair Goodman Wade and husband, Graham, of Charleston, SC, Jennifer Goodman Wilder and husband, Cole, of Radford, VA, W. Kirk Goodman of Folly Beach, SC, Michael K. Goodman of Radford, VA, and Kathryn M. "Katie" Crofford and Brad W. Crofford of Warrenton, VA; and three great-granddaughters, Ryan B. Goodman, Lillian B. "Lily" Long and Alba K. Long. Family and friends will be received Thursday, August 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. at a reception at Bliley's - Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Rd. A graveside service and burial will take place 11 a.m. Friday, August 2 in Culpeper National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Virginia War Memorial, 621 S. Belvidere St., Richmond, VA 23220.

I simply adored Dick - can hear him saying - "hey girl - what is the real estate market doing"!! I played bridge with him and Kitty and then with him for years - a true gentleman who touched many lives - he will be dearly missed!!!

A great American and wonderful father, husband, grandfather and friend. I am truly blessed to have had my life touched by his kind and loving way. The world is emptier with the loss of people like RN Goodman !!!
