To Mr. Gordon's family
I was so sad to hear of Mr. Gordon's death. I worked for him as an investigator at the Office of Special Counsel for several years. He was one of the most able and personable men I have ever met. He was always interested in listening to staff members' issues and problems, not just as a boss, but as a friend.
May he rest in peace.

Dick was my first boss at HQ AFOSI in the late 1960s. He was a good boss and always made the job interesting. Rest in peace Colonel.

To the Gordon Family,
I had the pleasure of knowing Dick during my 10 years as an attorney with the Office of Special Counsel. He was such a gentleman, always kind, friendly and smiling. What I remember most about him, however, is the love he had for his family. He was so incredibly proud of all of you. I have no doubt he will be dearly missed. He truly was one of the good guys.

Dick was one of the first people I met when living in Waynewood in 1971. Over the years he and Gayla became good friends. I will always remember his zest for life and boundless energy. Sometimes, he would drop down and do ten pushups, just to work it off. One of the "good guys"; he will truly be missed.

I am so sad to hear about the passing of my OSC Mentor and friend. Dick was a very wonderful and helpful man whom I ocassionally had the pleasure of sharing Thai dinners with after he retired. He will be missed by all of us who had the opportunity to meet and work with him. My condolences.

I wish I had gotten to meet Mr. Gordon, but I went to high school with his daughter Jennie and in the very small world we live in, I also ended up choosing his son Chris as our daughter's surgeon without having any idea I knew his family, until he mentioned to my parents that his parents were in Alexandria too.
The Gordon's truly are an amazing family with extremely talented children. I am sorry to hear of your loss and will certainly be thinking of you all.
Our condolences,
Robin (Kinder), Fred, Anthony and Faith

I am so saddened by the sudden passing of Mr. Gordon. I had the delightful pleasure of his and Mrs. Gordon's company when their son, Dr. Chris Gordon, spoke at our craniofacial retreats. He left an impression in my memory that I will not forget, as I'm sure he did for many who attended our retreats. I will keep Mrs. Gordon, Chris, and all of the family in my thoughts and prayers.

We are very sad to hear of the passing of a great guy - Dick Gordon. My husband and I loved his clever wit, that SMILE, and of course his keen intellect - he was a joy to be around. Our hearts go out to Gayla and the Gordon Family.

I had the pleasure of meeting Colonel Gordon when I attended law school with his daughter Amy. He's impossible to forget. He made clear that Amy's friends were always welcome in the very lovely home he and Mrs. Gordon shared. He was always warm, kind, and funny. I can still see the sparkle in his eye when he teased Amy and her friends, or had the opportunity to discuss his three remarkable children Chris, Amy, and Jennifer. Who, today, raises a surgeon, lawyer, and professional violinist and have all three turn out to be talented, kind, successful, good people? There is no reality TV show that can come close to this remarkable story! I know Colonel Gordon was proud of the beautiful family he and Mrs. Gordon created and his spirit, warmth, intellect, and many other wonderful qualities will live on in his children and his grandchildren. My love and condolences to Mrs. Gordon and the family. All best, Samantha, Greg, and Jackson Vamos
