RICKY BUDD Obituary

RICKY GLEN BUDD  Major, USMC (Ret.)
Passed away May 29, 2012 while vacationing in Hawaii, his favorite place on earth. He was the beloved husband (50 years) of Dorothy Budd of Brambleton, VA, and devoted father of Steven (wife Kimberly) Budd of Round Hill, VA, and James Budd of Greensboro, NC. He is also survived by his brother, William Budd of Florida and two grandchildren, Kylie and Ryan. Major Budd was born on August 22, 1936 in Panama and lived in many states as a child as the son of a Naval Commander, including Hawaii where he witnessed firsthand the bombing of Pearl Harbor. After graduating from high school, he entered the military reserves prior to enlisting two years later. Overall, he spent 34 years in the military, including assignments in Vietnam and Okinawa, in service to his country before retiring in 1989. During this period, he graduated with a business degree from the University of Maryland. After retiring from the USMC, Major Budd was self employed as a tax consultant and financial advisor in Northern Virginia until the time of his passing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden St., Herndon, VA 20170, where funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 22, 2012. Interment will take place at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in his name, may be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.  Email condolences may be made at adamsgreen.com
