Of Alexandria, VA, changed the lives of hundreds of people through his work as an addictions counselor and as an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous. Predeceased by his partners, Joe B. Crain, May 2005 and Astor DeNeal Moore, January 2004. He is survived by his brother-in- law, Robert Crain and his partner, Paul Weiss of Silver Spring, MD; his sister-in-law, Debbie Parsons and her husband, Larry Parsons, their daughters, Kendall and son, Cody; sister-in-law, Helen Hottle-Crain; his friends, Jim Sime, Blairsville, Georgia and Ken Clayton, Arlington, Virginia; his cousin, Virginia Peeler, Sun City Center, Florida; friend, Phil Rockstroh of Alexandria and many friends throughout the country. He also leaves his dogs, Sarah and Rosemary. His father, Robert "Herman" Ball, was a coach for the Washington Redskins in the 1940's and later the Philadelphia Eagles, died in 1999; his mother, Philippine Bowers, died when he was a child. Memorial/Funeral information, MCC-DC, 474 Ridge St, NW, Friday, June 2, 2006 at 1 p.m., with a light repast following the service. My thoughts and prayers go out to Bob's family and friends. I always considered Bob a friend as well as a co-worker. I will miss him dearly. Bob you have touched a lot of people in your life here and mine was one of those. I wll never forget you. Love, Mary
