I just learned of Dr.Beals passing. I am shocked! What I want people to know is that when God calls you home you must go. I will always remember Dr.Beal in my own way, but just remember for all of those that want to see him again you must live according to Gods word. Then we shall all see him again. On a happy note as soon as we get there he will be checking our weight! Follow the program because he is watching us now!!! Be encouraged to all and God Bless

I have been a patient of Dr. Beale on and off for the last 6 yrs. I found out about his death only this morning when I was getting ready to go to his office in DC. I thought the office was closed but wasn't sure so I went on the internet to do a search of the clinic's website. To my great shock one of the internet results showed he died. I couldn't believe what I was reading. So I called the office to confirm if what I was reading was true.
Dr. Beale will be missed terribly. I will always remember his laughter. I cannot imagine going to his clinic knowing that I won't be seeing his big smile again.
To his family, my deepest condolences. Mrs. Beale, your husband often told me stories about you. He was always so proud of you.
God Bless!

He always seem to love hard battled (ie.,good conversation and healthy people). Lisa and Vicki keep broad shoulders. Remember " I am so glad I go to HU" the anthem/fight song. To the Beale Family:
I was truly sadden to hear of the loss of a man who gave me a new lease on life. Dr. Beale was more than just a doctor. He was the most caring man I have come across in my lifetime. Something I will never forget, one moring in his office I had reached my 30lb weight loss and after he finished talking to me I said to him, well I guess I can switch out of your office now and he said to me "Ok now, Ms. Green, I see you showing off and we just laughed. My eyes fill with tears as I write this, but I know that he truly has a place in heaven with our Father Almighty. I pray that GOD will ease the pain of your loss. Remember there is nothing too hard for GOD to bear, so when it seems the pain is too great, just give it to GOD and he will carry you through.

Dear Beale Family,
I feel compelled to express my most sincerest heartfelt sympathy. Dr. Beale has helped many people I've known over the years, especially my aunt Joan. I will never forget her with those cards saying..."Dr. Beale & I are trying to lose weight"... or something to that effect. I just know it drove all of us (the family) craazzy!! I kept saying "who is this guy & why are we being tortured with these cliches?"
She would repeat these phrases All day... Everytime she got hungry!!However, they did work for her(thank God),and she did lose weight. This was in the 70's. His Legacy will live on forever. I know you must feel HONORED to have such a GREAT Humanitarian in your immediate family. He'll truely be missed by all who not only knew him; but those like me who only knew of him for helping my family members & friends. God Bless you all.....

Mrs. Beale, Vicki and Lisa - THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing Dr. Beale with the world. He was truly a great man. I have been a patient of Dr. Beale since 1995 (off and on), after returning to the office from an off period - I remember Dr. Beale lecturing me about the weight gain but smiling the entire time. That is what I will remember most about Dr. Beale (his smile). I am still in shock and do not know how to bring myself to accept that Dr. Beale will not be there smiling and lecturing me when I return to his office. I send my prayers and condolences to the family, staff, and friends of this great man and doctor. May God give you a peace that surpasses all understanding.

I am very sadden to hear of the lost of this great man, Dr. Beale. May God bless and comfort your family during this trying time.
I met Dr. Beale about two months ago when I began his weight loss program. I immediately was able to feel comfortable with him, he and comforted me about the loss of my child nine months ago and gave me hope, stating that he had been through a similar situation. I last called Dr. Beale on 11/12 to inform him that I was pregnant again and I would resume the program after the birth of the new baby.
He will be greatly missed. To the Beale family, please know that you now have a wonderful angel watching over you, because he truly was an angel.

I learned of Dr. Beale’s passing just moments ago, I am so sorry for the family's loss as well as the loss felt by friends, colleagues & patients who had the privilege of knowing Dr. Beale.
As a former patient... the Dr's frankness, honesty & humor will most certainly be missed. And 1 of my most vivid memories of him will be that during the time when phen-fen was thought to be the best thing on the market for weight loss...he refused to allow his patients to use it & threatened to stop treating anyone who he found to be using it. I had several doctors (at that time) discount what he had been saying all along, but he turned out to be absolutely right. I have always respected him for insisting on putting his patient's safety in front of a supposedly quick fix. Dr Beale was truly ahead of his time.
My deepest sympathy & prayers go out to the family.

Doc Beale did effect each of our lives differently but yet with a very common bond. His humor, wit, expressions, opinions, and his straight forwardness were unique in itself. Omaga, till the day I die. We all feel as we do, and he has left a very lasting impression on our lives. He,in his way, helped me to accept life and although life many times hurts, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger. My Carioca brothers--we are and will always be alive, because memories never die. They are us, and I salute being connected to each of you. May GOD accept Doc in his Kingdom and let him rest peacefully.

Dear Mrs. Beale, words can not express yours and your Daughters loss.
I was one of Dr. Beale's first patients when he opened his practice in Glenarden when I was 15 years old.
I'm now 47. I always made it a point to visit Dr. Beale at his office a few times a year when I was in town.
He always had that great smile when he saw me and took time out of his day to talk with me during my visit to get caught up on what was going on with me and my family.
He was like a second Father to me since my Dad passed away in 1978.
He always had positive and encouraging words as I moved through the different stages of my life.
He always saw the best in people and what they could achieve.
Please let me know if I can ever be of assistance to you and your family.
Best regards,

To the family & staff of Dr. Robert Beale.
I was very sadden when I learned the news of Dr. Beale's death. My mind wonders back to the first and last time I visited his office. He was such a caring physician. You don't find too many doctors that care for their patients. If I had an issue about the meds he prescribed me, he would always take time out to listen (even thou he had other patients waiting). Not only was he my weight loss physician, he was my friend. He would always encourage me to finish college.
Dr. Beale will truly be missed. May GOD be with you all in your time of sorrow.
We all loved Dr. Beale, but GOD loved him best!
Be Encouraged.

I didn't find out about his passing until the following friday morning when I went for my weekly visit to Dr. Beale's office. My heart literally dropped when I read the notice and I stooped there for a good 15 minutes in disbelief. I haven't known Dr. Beale that long but I've known him long enough to know how kind hearted he was. I remember a visit with him which was the last visit I had with him and I told him that I was having financial troubles which hendered me from sticking to my diet I was working on with him. He told me if that was to ever happened again to let him know and he would help me be able to stick to my program. My heart is broken and my thoughts are constant of him and his family. I couldn't imagine what they must be going through and I pray for their peace of mind. I'm at a loss for words. It's never a good bye it's only a see you later. God Bless.

To the Family and Staff of Dr. Robert S. Beale, Jr.
Dr. Beale was a wonderful, spirit filled man in spite of obstacles, whom I will miss dearly. Dr. Beale's genuine concern and desire to help many overweight women and men lose weight will be an inspiration for me to continue to reach towards my goal. Under the direction of Dr. Beale, I have lost many pounds and counting. I am happy to know that Dr. Lisa Beale will carry on the legacy of her father. I will continue to lose weight with the help of Dr. L. Beale and staff in honor of Dr. Robert S. Beale, Jr. May God continue to bless his family and pass the wisdom, knowledge, strength and encouragement on to his daughters and wife of 42 years! It's in times like this, when we all need to hold on to God's unchanging hands.

To Dr. Beale's family: I was truly sorry to hear of Dr. Beale's passing. A wonderful man and great doctor has passed on to a richly deserved reward. Dr. Beale once said to me when I told him that I like to have a little cheese and crackers and wine before a meal, "your only problem is your gracious livestyle." I will always remember him with a smile in my heart. My heartfelt prayers are with the family.

My thoughts are with the entire Beale family and network. Dr. Beale was truly a kind, caring fellow. He was interested in total human development. We often talked of his trips to Brazil, his motor cycle riding, and interest in developing Blacks in other parts of the world. I will truly miss his presence among us, but am glad I had the chance to walk and talk with him in this life journey. God Bless all and remember to be kind to others in memory of Dr. Beale.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the family, staff, and patients of Dr. Beale. Words cannot express the sorrow upon me. I first became a patient of Dr. Beale back in 1998. Then he taught me to understand my addicition to food as a black woman. I will miss his genuine compassion. I hope I can speak for his other patients in saying we support his daughter (Lisa) in continuing his legacy of work. In his honor, I truly commit myself to the challenge of doing the right thing in reaching my goal weight (again) for not only my health, most importantly, but for the struggle of what this great man stood for. Rest in peace Dr. Beale.

Words can not express my saddness. In life's Journey we meet all types of people, but Dr. Beale was a Shining Star in his field of practice. Dr. Beale taught me how to cherish my life through eating heathier which has aloud me to feel better as well as having a new body makeover by just eating healthier. "Dr. Beale I will miss your fussing on some Tuesday's after my challenge on eating healthy foods through the weekend." Dr. Beale was one of the Best Doctor's I ever met in my life. I will continue to pray for the Beale Family. He was One in a Million. I would like to thank the Beale Family for allowing Dr. Beale to be apart of so many people lives. I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet a great Doctor as well as a Friend indeed. God Bless the Beale Family as well as his Staff.
God Bless

To the Family of Dr. Beale: You are in my thoughts and prayers. I have been going to Dr. Beale on and off since 1990, he has always been more than just a doctor trying to help me maintain a healthy weight. He became a trusted, encouraging friend who shared in my happiness when I got married and had my daughter; and shared his words of wisdom when things weren't so good. I will truly miss him.

TO THE FAMILY & MRS. BEALE,
MY HEART HAS BEEN BROKEN AND I AM DEEPLY SADDENED TO HEAR OF MY FRIEND AND DOCTOR'S PASSING. DR. BEALE WAS A PEOPLE PERSON AND HE LOVED HIS PATIENTS. WE ALL KNEW HE DID BECAUSE HE WAS NEVER TOO BUSY TO EXTEND KIND WORDS OF ENCOURGEMENT; ESPECIALLY, WHEN WE GAINED A POUND OR DIDN'T LOOSE ANY WEIGHT, HE ALWAYS GREETED YOU WITH A FRIENDLY SMILE. I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT GENIUNE SMILE....THOSE BEAUTIFUL PEARLY WHITE TEETH.
ALTHOUGH, I WILL MISS HIM, THE JOY OF THIS TRAGEDY IS THAT HE LOVED THE LORD AND WAS SINCERE ABOUT HIS SALVATION. REST ON MY DEAR FRIEND AND DOCTOR AND I WILL SEE YOU WHEN I GET THERE. I AM SURE I WILL BE BACK AGAIN TO WRITE MORE. I AM JUST STUNNED.......
MRS. BEALE....WORDS CANNOT NOT EXPRESS MY SORROW FOR THE LOSS I AM SURE YOU ARE EXPERIENCING AT THIS TIME....I WILL CONTINUE TO KEEP YOU AND YOUR BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTERS IN MY PRAYERS AND PLEASE REMEMBER THAT ALL OF HIS MEDICAL PATIENTS LOVED HIM AND THAT SAME LOVE IS EXTENDED TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
MY PRAYER RIGHT NOW IS, "MAY GOD GRANT YOU ALL THE STRENGTH YOU NEED RIGHT NOW TO ENDURE THIS STORM IN YOUR LIFE." REMEMBER HE PROMISED NEVER TO LEAVE OR DESERT YOU....STRETCH OUT ON HIS WINGS OF LOVE AND LET HIM COMFORT YOU. GOD BLESS YOU!

I am beyond saddened to hear this news of Dr. beale's death. My prayers go out to his family and staff. Dr. Beale will never be forgotten, I spoke w/ him last month and he gave me the blu's about not taking my weight problem seriously and said he's worried about me. I asked him not to be mad at me and he said "Ms. Williams I know u can do it,but u have to want to do the work". In my absence his voice has played in my head since then and even more now.
