Robert Dollison Obituary

Dollison

Robert B. Dollison "Bob"

Robert Dollison, 93, of Bethesda MD, passed away in Warrenton, VA on August 26, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife, Krystyna; and is survived by his son Rob; and daughter Libby; including his grandchildren Mark, Alison, Melissa and his great grandchildren Audrey and Owen. Bob was known for his generosity and had a passion for travel, reading, dancing, and celebrations with friends and family. Bob was born and grew up in New York City, NY, graduated from Columbia School of Engineering, went to work at Westinghouse, and then volunteered for the Navy and became an Ensign on a destroyer. After his tour in the Navy, he joined the Foreign Service and served in El Salvador and Thailand, followed by a transfer to the Commerce Department, where he worked as a Trade Specialist on east-west trade with communist countries. Through his east-west trade work he met Krystyna, the love of his life. After his retirement from forty-two years with the government, he worked part time editing audio books for the blind in support of the Library of Congress. His kindness and friendly smile will be sorely missed by all. A private remembrance gathering is planned. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society (https://donate.cancer.org).
