Robert F. Gregorits December 11, 1926 – July 13, 2023

Robert F. (Greg) Gregorits of Springfield, VA, died peacefully on July 13, 2023, at his home in West Springfield. The son of Frank and Katherine Gregorits, he was born in South Bend, IN in December 1926. Greg, a loving father and husband, married the talented and beautiful Irene Kuzmic, with whom he shared a happy marriage of 64 years. Together they had six children, 14 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, who already miss him dearly.

Greg served in WWII and after the war attended and graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a B.S. in electrical engineering. He also attained an MBA from Michigan State University in 1966. After college, Greg went on to perform pioneering radar engineering work for the Naval Sea Systems Command. A loyal Notre Dame sports fan, he attended many football and basketball games, national championship ceremonies and reunions.

He is survived by his children: Kathryn Bregman (Bob) of New York City, Nancy Multer (Gary) of Boston, Robert Gregorits of Fairfax Station, VA, John Gregorits (Rita) of Lewes, DE, Andrea Mackay (Iain) of London, UK and Jennifer McMarlin (Dave) of Fairfax; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at Saint Bernadette's Church, Greg's spiritual home, on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 11 a.m. The viewing will take place at the church proceeding the funeral at 10:15 a.m. After the Funeral Mass, the family requests your presence at the Bradigan Room on the grounds of Saint Bernadette's. In honor of his memory, the family has requested donations be made to the tuition fund at Saint Bernadette's School, 7600 Old Keene Mill Road, Springfield, VA 22152.
