ROBERT LEAR Obituary


ROBERT LEAR "Bob"  
Died peacefully on September 13, 2014 in Fairfax, VA at the age of 88. Bob is survived by his two daughters and their husbands, Sheryl and Keith Hope and Pattigene and Leon Long; five grandchildren, Carri, Christie, Andy, Stephanie and Erin, and four great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Liliana, Caleb and Nalia. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Beale, and siblings: Rosemary Webley, Alice Foltz, Edgar, James and Dorie Lear. Bob was born on January 31, 1926 in Star Tannery, VA. He served in the U.S. Navy in WWII as a Radioman 2nd class and enjoyed his career at Merrill Lynch. A strong, Christian man, he loved hymns and serving the church and our Lord. Viewing is September 16, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Fairfax United Methodist Church. The interment is September 17 at 2 p.m. at National Memorial Park in Falls Church, followed by a memorial service at 4 p.m. at Fairfax United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Society of St. Andrew. In the words of Bob: Keep on, keepin' on.www.fmfh.com

Our sympathy to Sheryl and Pattigene. Your Dad is now in the palm of Gods hands free from pain and suffering. Dad was the uncle of two of my good friends. We will always remember him as such a fine Christian man with love for his family and church.
