Was not aware of his passing. He was a great teacher and a wonderful man. He had many insights that he'd share freely.

I continue to think about the structure and discipline that mirrored his classroom at McFarland Jr High. I am certain he employed those same characteristics in every aspect of his life. I pray his family is at peace and awaiting the time when they will be reunited. God bless you.

It was an honor to have been introduced to the USA and martial-arts under the instructions of Mr. McDuffie at the DC-Dragons on 18th and Colombia back in 1978 when I had just gotten off the "boat" from Iran. Mr. McDuffie was a symbol of kindness, grace, class, humility and strength. Peace & Love

Much love to the entire McDuffie family. Mr. McDuffie - AKA Sensei - was a powerful figure in my life and in the life of so many other young Dragons during the tumultuous 1980s. DC Dragons was a safe haven and Mr. McDuffie was always strong in holding the fort. Rest in Paradise to a strong Black man who was a father, leader, teacher, business owner and a guiding light.

McDuffie, as he was called at McFarland Jr. High School, was a colleague who will be remembered as supportive and diligent in his efforts to teach guide young minds.
May the God that we serve uplift you now and always.

DC Dragons Karate School's GM Robert McDuffie was an inspiration to me. the late Hanshi Robert E. Everhart of 'Everhart's Nippon Kenpo Karate School of Capital Hill, spoke highly of GM McDuffie. GM McDuffie was of the few African American Martial Arts Schools in the DMV to own his Karate School's property. His doors were always open to anyone seeking advise. GM McDuffie's legacy and spirit of D.C. Dragons Karate School will live forever in the martial arts community. He will be greatly missed.

To a man who epitomized the essence of strength, integrity, character and forth-righteousness... My Sensei, my Mentor, my Friend. Thank you for the lessons that enhanced the quality of my life from childhood, that formed a stature and foundation of discipline that allowed me to grow and prosper farther than I ever would've without your teachings. May you Rest in Peace! - Might For Right!
