Robert Mitchell Obituary
Bob was a loving and dedicated father to Kristy Sullivan (Andy), Linda Ellington, Rob Mitchell (Kristy), and Marty Mitchell (Jeanette). He was also a loving grandfather to six wonderful grandchildren; Tori Ellington, Colleen (Mark) McCoy, Joey Mitchell, Sean Sullivan, Maggie Ellington, and Billy Mitchell and great-grandfather to Johnny and Mason McCoy.
Bob was born on November 13, 1936, in Washington, DC. and was the beloved son of the late John (Billy) and Margaret (Peggy) Mitchell.
May the many memories of his life bring comfort to those who knew and loved him. The family will receive relatives and friends beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 21, 2025 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 4101 Norbeck Rd., Rockville, MD 20853; where the Funeral Mass will begin at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, MD.

Bob was an inspiration us all, as a devoted husband, a father, a grandfather, a home builder and developer, a philanthropist, and a mentor. He will be missed by all and remembered fondly and respectfully by all who knew him.
He was one of a kind.

Dear Marlene, Sue and I were so sorry to hear about Bob passing. I remember all our after mass breakfast at Nancy, our Wednesday dinners at the Club and specially the many times he and I went to the Club early in the afternoon on super-bowl Sunday to get the round table in front of the TV and our many conversations before anyone walked in. Our deepest condolences to you and your entire family. Bob will be missed dearly.

Marlene I was saddened to read of Bobby's death. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I remember the first time I met Bobby back in 1951, he and husband Bob were wrestling in my in-laws front hallway. Bobby was 15 and Bob 21. I will never forget Bobby's kindness when I lost my children and Bob, a quiet comfort. I would be with you for his service but I now live in Daytona Beach with son Bobby. My thoughts will be with you on the 21st. Prayers.
