SHEPARD C WILLNER
April 4, 2021
I first met Bob at Summit Camp of Honesdale, PA in June 1970 when we first shared a cabin with 8 other boys. Our friendship got closer during the summer of '72 because we both shared a love of softball and baseball cards. I remember him playing the drums as musical accompaniment to a fellow camper's singing at the camp's canteen. Bob's parents, Walter and Barbara, formed a close friendship with my folks, and during an internship with Walt's employer, Metro Washington Council of Govenments (COG) in the summer of '81, offered me and my parents sage advice about entering the Federal Service as a career option. I did just that, using the Selective Placement program to get a permanent position at FEMA in December '83. Nearly 35 years later, I retired at a Grade 12 step 10. RIP, Bob and Walt. I'll miss your presence in my life. Keep alive, Barbara. If you want to contact me or my Mom, Marilyn Willner, please use the email shown below.

Dear Mrs Scheiber, Suzie, Mariam and Dave:
I am so sorry that Robert passed away. Please accept my condolences. My brother Jimmy Tapley & I were his classmates at B-CC and had the pleasure of being around Robert thru the baseball team and athletics. We were very fond of Robert and had great respect for him. He was quite a character! I hope your memories of his huge smile and love of music and people will be a comfort to you. Robert made this world a better place.

Thank you so much for your thoughts, Karen, Lenny and Sarah. Karen -- we remember you and your family very well and enjoyed being neighbors. All the best to everyone. Lenny, thanks so much for sharing your memories of Bob and the baseball team -- that's really nice to know how much he meant to the players and staff. And thank you, too, Sarah for the condolences to our mom.

I played both baseball and football at BCC while Robert was our team manager. We all loved his enthusiasm and dedication to the teams. He surely was an inspiration to us all. I know he will be sorely missed by your family. My prayers are with you all.
