Bob will be remembered for his creative endeavors, competitive spirit, enthusiasm for life, and dedication to his children. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne, daughters Audrey and Nikki, son Jack, and other family including his dear sister Sandra. Services will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in McLean, VA. Bobby was a wonderful cherished friend from the time we were in kindergarten throughout our adult life. We grew up together and is always remembered fondly by my family. His passing, way too soon, was tragic. Bobby will never be forgotten.

I am not sure if this is same Robert Bobby Slade .I knew we went to elementary school at the original Woodmont Elementary School on N Fillmore Street before it was torn down and rebuilt . May he rest in peace.
Norma Jean Vint was my name back then .

Bobby and Mike were both mentors to the younger guys at W-L. We looked up to those fellas and held them in high regard both on and off the playing field. Growing up around the corner from them, Bobby was my Sister Nancy's contemporary and Mike my Sister Terri's age. I still have fond memories of both. RIP Bobby.

Rest in Peace Bobby....Just knowing you was an experience...Enjoyed our time as kids on Stewart Buick, and inheriting your 3rd base position. Enjoyed your sense of humor in classes we shared at W-L and our occasional visits at your restaurants. Though it had been many years, I was so glad to reconnect with you a little over a year ago once again. You did good my friend and left behind a beautiful family that loves you!

Bobby,
Known you since we were 8, playing baseball in the county league with your brother Mike, on Stewart Buick, a championship team that even sent a fellow player to the Pros.
We didn't cross paths in life much after our youth, but nice to see that, outside the restaurants, you also had a beautiful family.
R.I.P
old friend.

Such very sad news. Bobby was a role model for me as a youngster growing up around the corner. All the underclassmen looked up to him and his amazing athletic abilities. RIP my friend. Thoughts and prayers with the family.

My heart breaks to hear this news. I have known Bobby since I was 6 years old. We grew up together. We were neighbors and remained friends throughout our lives. It was always a special event when our families would run into one another. Please accept our heartfelt condolences from the entire Buckhantz family.

I always thought that someday Bob and I would kick back a few drinks again. It had been thirty years but we were friends again before his death. Rest In Peace, Bob, and we'll have that drink in heaven someday.

I was fortunate to have Bob on my basketball team at Washington-Lee High. He was an excellent player who showed great leadership skills and also was the perfect team member. My wife, Ginger, and I also loved his restaurants. He will be missed by many - more than you can remember. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Bobby was a long time friend with whom I shared many experiences that will never be forgotten. Bobby was fun and always pushed the envelope. Once he called and I asked what are you doing, and he replied "Just taking 'No's' " for a business deal. I will never forget this and his humor and larger than life Optimism and attitude. God bless his soul, Stan Brock
