Robert Weaver Obituary

May 30, 1943 -- September 8, 2025
A long-time resident of Washington DC and Bethesda, MD, Robert Weaver was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. A native Nebraskan, he earned undergraduate and law degrees at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. From a young age, he was interested in politics, law, architecture, and civil rights. For two summers, he was a Senate Intern in Washington, DC. After law school he was a Captain in the US Army, serving in New Jersey and Vietnam.
During his career, Bob focused on environmental law, conservation, and infrastructure issues. He worked at the US Department of Interior, National Association of Counties, and law firms in Washington, DC and Texas. In the final 20 years of his work life, in the DC law firm, Kelly and Weaver, he represented cities, counties, and municipalities. As a lobbyist, he assisted in the acquisition of millions of dollars of funding for bridges, aquifers, and sewer systems throughout the country.
Robert is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jerilyn (Jeri) Adam Weaver; their four children: Adam Weaver (Adrienne), Allyson Bunker (Brian), Abby Getzel (Bryant), and Arielle Weaver (Mike); and grandsons David, James, Jeremy, Ethan, and Avery; a sister, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces, and dear friends.
