Rolando Santos Obituary
of Fairfax Station, VA on July 14, 2006; he was preceded in death by his father Rolando J. Santos. He is survived by his mother, Rosario C. Santos; two sisters, Katherine Bogacki (Russell) and Ceceily Santos; two nieces, Samantha and Bentleigh; two nephews, Owen and Nicholas and one cousin, Joan Baccay. Family will receive friends at NATIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 7482 Lee Hwy., Falls Church, VA, Sunday, July 16, from 4 to 8 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Monday, July 17 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Crisis Link, 2503 D N. Harrison St., #114, Arlington, VA 22207.

Rolando was a great friend of mine and my heart goes out to his wonderful family. On behalf of the staff at Alternative Paths Training School, his patience with our students and unique sense of humor (including the bad jokes) won't be replaced. As my friend, I'll miss his ability to make me smile and willingness to always lend an ear, even for the small things.

My heart goes out to the family. I met "Alan" in Charlottesville, VA. He was so easy to like. I throught of him often when he moved to Ga. and started a new charpter in his life.

I miss you and your spirit. I didn't know you well at first but your openess and williness to accept people disarmed me. I grew to be your friend and I think we taught each other things that we would not have know on our own. I thank you for everything you gave me. You were there for me and I love you for that. I am so sorry to hear this. I am shocked and saddened. I worked with Rolondo for a few months at the hotline. He was such a giving and wonderful person. He will be missed.

I also knew Rolando (Alan) in high school. Chris (signed below) and I were in a band with him. One thing that I remember about Alan was that he always challenged me as a friend. He never looked for the easy way. I felt as if he reached out and grabbed you by the collar to say 'Hey. I'm your friend'. For this reason, I will remember him for being a true friend in the purest sense of the word.

It was an honor of being trained by Rolando. His kindness, patience and sense of humor made him an excellent mentor and a wonderful human being. He will be missed.

rolando, i wish we would have had the chance to hang out. if i were to have known this was going to happen, i would have joined you last week at that hawaiian party. God knows how much i regret not going. we had each other's numbers and we both intended to get together a few times, but things always came up. i want you to know how sorry i am for not joining you last week after running into you. maybe it was fate that i at least ran into that night. you were one of my favorite people that i met through crisis link. i saw some people write about how you are inspiring. it is very true because you had always inspired me. i will never forget you. with love, lila

I knew Rolando (Alan) in high school and just found out today of his untimely passing. We were very close and I had been trying to find him for the last few months. I knew him as always smiling and being such a kind, wonderful, and talented friend. My heart reaches out to everyone who knew him...

Eventhough I did not have the luxury to know Rolando that well, the few times he trained me, I was touched by his compassion and kindness. Wherever you are Rolando, I hope that you know that you will be greatly missed!

Rolando was a wonderful soul and I feel very lucky to have known him. He was my trainer for CrisisLink and then I was fortunate to work beside him this year as a fellow trainer. We will miss him so much. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
