Ronald Marcey Obituary

MARCEY

RONALD MANUEL MARCEY "Ron" (Age 68)

Passed quietly at his daughters home in the early morning hours of June 2, 2022 surrounded by family.

A memorial service will be held on June 6, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Home, 1621 Jefferson Davis Highway in Fredericksburg, VA; followed by burial at the family church, Morrisville United Methodist Church at 4432 Morrisville Road, Bealton, VA 22712; near his family home to rest with his much beloved family members that passed before him.

A lifelong fan of the Redskins football team and lovingly known to all as Ron "Redskin", he is survived by Terry Laudenberger and her sister Kathy; his daughter Suzanne Marcey Garcia and Brian LaRoche; Brother Michael and Mickie Marcey and niece Brianna Marcey. Terry's sons, Byron, his wife Jennifer Laudenberger, and Dustin Laudenberger; and seven grandchildren, Ayden B. Garcia, Connor M. Garcia, Colin, Riley, Megan and Avery Laudenberger; Seth Laudenberger.

Mr. Marcey was born on February 10, 1954 in Falls Church, Virginia. He was raised in the Pimmit Hills area and moved to Clinton, MD as a young man, spending most of his adult life there and his much beloved Chincoteague, VA, where he enjoyed the water, fishing and beautiful views.

As a child, Mr. Marcey and his two brothers spent summers running wildly around the family homestead in Sumerduck, VA raising a ruckus and keeping his Nana on her toes. September 17, 2021, Frederick French "Freddy" Marcey passed, his brother will also be laid to rest with Ron.

Mr. Marcey spent his career in the HVAC repair business first in private business and then working for over 30 years with the Architect of the Capital team at the US Senate Buildings. He could be counted on by friends and family to keep their home and car HVAC in tip top condition, even after retiring. He lived a joyful and colorful life, cracking jokes until the end typically somewhere near a horse racetrack, bar, sporting event or car show. He will be missed by ALL.

My heartfelt condolences to my cousin Terry and all the Davis Family members and all Ron's family and friends. I remember Ron when we'd visit our cousins in Maryland or when they would come up to visit their "Yankee" family :) . Ron was so easy to get along with and people just took a liking to him in no time. He was funny and quiet and honest and down to earth and a gentlemen and he will be missed.
