I am saddened to learn of the death of a childhood friend and my condolences to his family. My memories of him include all the backyard cookouts we had over successive summers in the 60s. Also, playing 'fox and geese' in the snow in the winters. Our lives never crossed after we both left Warren although he met one of my students when she won a NASA award for High School students. Their photo is on the wall in our physics lab.
Ron was truly a joy to know.

Ron was an amazing man. It was an honor and a privilege to know him and to see his wonderful 'vacation' pictures from space. He will be missed.

I had the honor and pleasure of working with Ron since 1999 on the OMNI project at NASA/GSFC and most recently in the design, construction, launch, and successful operation of the US Naval Academy MidSTAR-1 satellite. This morning (5/16/2008) at 1500 GMT these comments and a collection of photos and comments from other sites were uploaded to MidSTAR-1 to be a small orbiting memorial to Ron. We miss Ron greatly but we will remember all the good times we had.

The employees of CSC are honored to have had Ron in our ranks. He was a knowledgeable man who treated everyone with respect, and we all respected him. It was a pleasure to have him as a part of our team. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. May his family cherish the memories he leaves behind. My prayers and condolences are with the Parise family during this trying time. God Bless You

It seems like yesterday that my children were standing in line at the SSD picnic to meet Ron. I can still picture him in his astronaut suit, sitting in the shade and signing autographs for the kids. He was our CSC hero and we will remember him always. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

My deepest condolences to the parise family. Ron and I went to Warren Western Reserve High School, and I followed his career in the papers. I remember Ron as a truly sweet guy and he will be missed by so many people. You are in my prayers

My thoughts and prayers are with the Parise family. Ron and I were friends in high school in Warren (Ohio) and shared an interest in astronomy. We were founding members of the high school's Astronomy Club and got to assist in putting on shows in the high school's planetarium. Although we took different career paths, we shared "big" dreams of going to YSU and beyond; not knowing how far we could go. I know that he was an inspiration to many, and will be sorely missed.

I appreciated Ron's willingness to share his STS flight experiences at a local birthday party for Jimmy Doohan (Scotty of Star Trek). And the 1999 Total Solar Eclipse cruise was greatly enhanced by Ron's presence. What a great gentleman!

Ron was a pleasure to work with and an inspiration. Although he was both an astronaut and a PhD, his coworkers were always treated as intellectual equals.

I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I worked with Ron as a student intern in May 2000. He inspired me in so many ways, especially to pursue my dream of becoming an astronaut. Without his encouragement and support I would not have pursued a career at Kennedy Space Center. I will definitely miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

I had the pleasure of working with Ron Parise on the IUE Project. It was a pleasure to be in the same environment with an Astronaut. But I had great pride knowing that Ron was a CSC employee. So he not only represented hismself, family, NASA but also CSC.
He will be missed. His legacy will live on and all of the achievements he made.
My prayers are with his family in this time of sorrow.
