SIMMONS RONALD LEE (Age 71)

Of LaPlata, MD, on August 12, 2002 at Civista Hospital in La Plata, MD. He is predeceased by his parents, Howard H. and Anna Miller Simmons; a grandson, Nathan Aaron Carpenter; he is survived by his wife Carol Krause Simmons; children, William Ronald Simmons, Ann Lorraine Simmons and Sharon Kay Carpenter; brother Donald H. Simmons; former wife Jean Smith Simmons; 11 grandchildren, two stepdaughthers, Tracy Jeanne Back and Kerri Louise Tibbits Bowman; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues around the world. Friends may call an hour prior to the funeral services at 3p.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2002 at the AREHART-ECHOLS FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 211 St. Mary's Ave., La Plata, MD 20646. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Smithsonion Institution, c/o The County First Bank, P.O. Box 2752, La Plata, MD 20646-2265.
