ROY J. MENEFEE
On Saturday, January 28, 2012 of Alexandria, VA. Beloved husband of Rose L. Menefee; father of Lynne Overton (Connie), David Menefee (Claire), Michael Menefee (Mary), Mary Thomas (Douglas), Mark Menefee (Wanda) and the late Carole Meaut nee Menefee; brother of June Agee; grandfather of 13 and great-grandfather of three. Relatives and friends may call at Jefferson Funeral Chapel, 5755 Castlewellan Dr. Alexandria, VA on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Louis Catholic Church, 2907 Poplins Ln., Alexandria, VA on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Interment Fairfax Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Rose, I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of Roy. You may not remember me but I served in Athens with you and Roy. I arrived in 1978 and Roy quickly became my mentor; we traveled to many interesting places. He was so talented and I really enjoyed working with him. Please accept my sincerest condolences. Rose, I know there are no words that any one could say to you right now that would make a difference in how you feel.
Please just remember, having been through this, the only One that can make a difference as time goes on is God Himself. He will be with you each day, He will soften your grief as time goes on. You are in my thoughts and prayers and always will be. Please call when you feel like talking. I will always be here for you.
