Mrs. Strickland & Family,

My thoughts are with you at this time of bereavement. I met Bob in person (I always watched him on Channel 9) at the Brookland Metro Station where he was waiting for someone to pick him up after he had finished reporting on the BIG SNOW that had fallen in October 1998. He was a very personable gentleman. May his soul rest in peace.

I can remember a time when newscasters were like a part of your family that you sat down with every evening. Bob Strickland was a big part of our family albeit through the TV news, but still someone we will miss.

God's comfort will keep you.

Family:
I just saw Bob abut three weeks ago, waving as he came down Carpenter Street. Janice, you may not remember me but we were also neighbors in Fort Lincoln. I think you and Bob had just gotten married. He was a great reporter and anchor and supporter of the Washington community. He will be missed and his generous spirit lives on.
