Not sure what to say?

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.
Bob was my longtime friend that was so very gifted and kind!

To the Strickland Family,

Bob was someone who gave us the reports we needed with channel 9 news. He was a great asset to our community. We thank you Mr. Strickland for all you gave!

Mrs. Strickland & Family,

My thoughts are with you at this time of bereavement. I met Bob in person (I always watched him on Channel 9) at the Brookland Metro Station where he was waiting for someone to pick him up after he had finished reporting on the BIG SNOW that had fallen in October 1998. He was a very personable gentleman. May his soul rest in peace.

Geraldine Jones (resident of the Brookland neighborhood)

Our heartfelt condolences and sympathy are extended to the bereaved family of Rupert Strickland. "Bob", as he was fondly known to family and friends, was a very caring, loving and compassionate man; he was also very reliable, responsible and dependable. He was a fantastic friend. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

I wish to convey my heartfelt condolences to the entire Strickland family and to all his friends and colleages who had the pleasure of working with him. Mr Strickland was such a distinguised and well-spoken 'gentleman'.

You were a good family friend, always willing to help others.
May you soul find rest with Christ.
To the family:
Your loved one is with Christ. May you find comfort in his sanctuary.
The Wills family

I can remember a time when newscasters were like a part of your family that you sat down with every evening. Bob Strickland was a big part of our family albeit through the TV news, but still someone we will miss.

God's comfort will keep you.

Family:
I just saw Bob abut three weeks ago, waving as he came down Carpenter Street. Janice, you may not remember me but we were also neighbors in Fort Lincoln. I think you and Bob had just gotten married. He was a great reporter and anchor and supporter of the Washington community. He will be missed and his generous spirit lives on.

I'm so surprised and sorry to hear about Mr. Strickland's death. Traci, I am thinking about you.
