Dear Butch and family.
I remember 2005 like it was yesterday. And yesterday I remembered that it was Mother´s Day 2005 that Ruth left us. I was in Louisville for DERBY and Mother´s Day just as I was last weekend. Just as I was packing for travel home, I got the sad news that my RA had passed. She had written me in 1968 to welcome me to the University of Louisville. Later that year I met her. She was sophisticated and poised. She was very pretty and perfect in every way. Love and miss you Ruth Ann.

I will always remember Ruth Ann. I met her in 1968. She was the resident assistant on my floor in Threlkeld Hall at the University of Louisville. We became friends. My family has roots in Breckinridge County and I had followed Butch's career. I was glad that she was his girlfriend because my father said Butch was related. I admired them as a couple. Attended their wedding reception and count them as lifelong friends.

I'm still on Berleigh Hill Ct. Mr. Morton passed away this past Sept so now I'm missing him and you. You use to laugh at his driving when he passed by your house. Maybe you two have reconnected. Continue to rest in peace!

My friend and former neighbor. Hard to believe this much time has passed by. I think of you from time to time especially as I pass your former family home residence. Just know you are not forgotten.

Dear Butch and family,

Sorry to hear about Ruth's passing. She was such a wonderful wife, mother and teacher. I loved her as a teacher, mother and friend.

I am sure she will be missed by many people who surfaced in her life.

I was a student of hers from the Community High School.

Love,

Butch and family, I realize I had just spoken to you today on the phone Butch but again I just want you to know how deeply sorry I am to hear of Ruth's passing. As I'd said before, she was a beautiful woman and I truly loved her. She was a great teacher. My memories of her will always be in my heart, whether it was our trips to a japanese restaurant during our lunch hour at Community High school or even just chatting with her at lunch. She has always had a special place in my heart and always will. I will never forget her.

Love always,

Yannie

Butch and family

I just can't find words to express how much I loved you and "Hack" when we were at UofL. I can still remember all the times I spent in her dorm room at Threlkeld Hall as though it were yesterday. Can't tell you how many times people in the city would mistake short me and not as tall Ralph as you and Hack.

Remembering all the good times and her love for you and how happy she was when she found out "Little Butchie" was on the way. I think of you all often, especially when the game between the Wizards and the Lakers was cancelled at the last minute at the new Altell Arena in Little Rock a few years ago.

Read Lyman Johnson's entry and remembered the mixup in the Yearbook

when we were mistaken as the BSU.

Butch and Family,

You have my deepest sympathies and condolences. Words cannot express how stunned I was to learn just now of Ruth Ann's passing.

I have distinct memories of her in college at UofL as friendly, cheerful and most likeable. When I reconnected with her years later, I was not surprised to find the same qualities. (And I'll never forget that unexpected impromptu reunion we had at Penn State where Sam was playing in the Junior Olympic volleyball tournament. Ruth Ann saw me there and tracked me down!)

She is going to be missed. I have no doubt, though, that the positive impact she had on you as well as on the rest of us as students and friends will be lasting.

Please know that there are countless friends who have you all in our thoughts and prayers as you make adjustments to your deep loss.

Sincerely,

Monica Kaufman

My sympathy, prayers and love, I extend to Butch and the children. Ruth Ann and I used to spend a lot of time together when we were dating roomates at U of L. I can still here her laugh and remember so well her energy and her absolute unconditional love for Butch. How sad I am to hear of her passing.

Our hearts go out to the family. You might not know many of us from Winchester , but we are sadden as well with the lost of Ruth Ann.She had many friends and family who remember her and love her dearly. Its been a long time since the days on fifth street in Winchester.Me, just a big headed kid who who used to catch the blues from the other kids, but she took the time to take up for her little cousin and I will never forget that ! To the family, it will be allright, she will allways be with you.And one day you will see her again!
