I regularly remember Ruth because of her wonderfully spirited attitude towards life, which her family carries on so impressively.

Ruth's presence continues to bless those of us who knew her and others who didn't but have enjoyed and been so impressed by the remembrances that friends have shared with everyone. There could never be enough Ruths in this world. Memories of her wisdom, friendliness, and good cheer brighten every day.

Dear Judy and Elliott, Sarah and Julia, Felice and family,
As with your dad, your mom held a place in my heart. My last conversation with her was about 7 years ago at the cafe, Love of Bread or something similar, with Betsy Crone. As ever, she was bright and thoughtful and kind. She lives on in so many people who she touched.
With high regards,
Claudia and Bill Schechter

"Put things into perspective": near verbatim, that's what Ruth promptly, enthusiastically responded when I asked her, when she was "merely" about 100, what was the most important thing she'd ever learned.
Ruth put that advice into practice about a month ago. Conversing outdoors with several of us neighbors, she asked me whether I was about to go for a walk. I responded yes. Ruth responded with a laugh (a laugh I interpreted as simultaneously acknowledging that at this stage of her life she was not about to go for a substantial walk, and cheerfully, humorously putting that limitation into but-I-still-very-much-enjoy-life perspective), "I'm going for a sitting."
