Uncle Sam was my hero growing up on 9th St in D.C.He was always there for me. He helped me learn Latin when I was studing to be an alter boy, he would take me for rides in his 55 Chevy and made me so proud to wear the silk dragon jacket he brought me back from Japan.....RIP Uncle Sam

My Uncle Sam was both a kind and loving uncle. Although we lived far apart in another state, when we did get together for a Bonanno gathering, his smile and laughter was unmistakable. It's sad to realize the last of my 7 Bonanno aunts and uncles have left us, including my mother, Rose, who passed away on April 2nd of this year. The only consolation is that Uncle Sam has been reunited with his family members in heaven and I'm sure they're all having a blast of a Bonanno reunion in heaven. Rest in peace Uncle Sam, we'll miss you!
