SANDRA ANN NYLEN
Sandra Ann Nylen "Sandy", born October 5, 1943, in Arlington, VA passed away peacefully on November 15, 2023. Sandy spent much of her childhood in post-war Japan and Germany, attended Annandale High School, became an airline stewardess; living in Olney she raised her family, and worked 30 years for the Montgomery County School system. Sandy was the wife of the late Allen J. Nylen (Sandy's other full-time occupation). Beloved mother of Edward and Christine; mother in-law to Joanne; and grandmother to Henry. Friendly to all who came through her door, human and canine. Sandy enjoyed reading, cooking, and caring for her dogs. She will also be missed by her sister's Lois and Linda. her nieces and nephews; dearest friend Jackie; and all her great neighbors from Olney, Urbana and beyond. Sandy was predeceased by her sister Janie and brother Steve. There will be a celebration of life to follow on a later date. In lieu of flowers please make any donations to

Oh my dear, dear Sandy. I just found out today about your leaving us. I tried to call you and when I couldn't reach you, I finally called Nancy and she told me. I am so upset with myself for losing touch with you. I have thought about you so often since I moved from Carriage Hill Drive. You were such a wonderful friend, neighbor, dog mommy, and mentor. I love you so much and I will never forget you. Look for Tattinger up in heaven for me. Until I see you again...please watch over me. You were one of God's angels to me. I will never forget you. My dear friend Sandy, I will always cherish the years of conversations, stories, laughs, tears and friendship. We loved our dogs and had so many shared moments with our coffee or wine! I miss you. Be at peace with your heavenly loved ones.
