SCOTT FRIEDEL Obituary
SCOTT ETHAN FRIEDEL
Also known as Scott Hardkiss, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 25, 2013 of a cerebral aneurysm. He was 43. Scott was a musical pioneer, a San Francisco DJ who played a key role in the development of America's rave scene in the 1990's. Scott was raised in Potomac, MD, and was a graduate of The Bullis School and the University of Pennsylvania. Scott was a brilliant artist, producer, DJ, husband, father, son and brother. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Stephanie Diaz-Matos, beloved daughter Ilana, brother Glenn, and parents Ellen Wilner and Elliott Friedel. Scott's funeral was held in New York.

It has been many years since I have seen either of you and I was shocked and saddened to learn about Scott. I am simply at a loss for words and can only say that you have my heartfelt condolences.

Dear Ellen,
I learned of this in the Post this morning, to my great shock and dismay. Our hearts are broken and I cannot imagine the grief and agony that now visits you. I know I can say or do little to ease those but we want you to know that we are here for you and will do whatever you of wish of us. You have been devoted to your sons and grandchildren and the loss is thus so much more devastating. I just called Jim and we will visit you later.
