SHARON LOWRY Obituary

SHARON MIER LOWRY (Age 68)
On September 16, 2015, Sharon Mier Lowry (68) left this world to rest in peace with her maker. Sharon passed suddenly after a nine month battle with an auto immune deficiency. Mrs. Lowry was born in Alexandria, VA and graduated from G. W. High School where she was a cheerleader and participant in many other activities. Sharon married her high schoolsweetheart one year later to raise the family that she had dreamed of and spent her working career as a mortgage analyst both in banking and at the Department of HUD. She and her beloved best friend retired on the same day eight years ago and were enjoying life as Florida snowbirds. Mrs. Lowry was preceded in death by her father Victor Mier; mother Eleanor Morris; stepfather Frank Morris and younger brother Alan. She is survived by her husband, Drew; sons, Bill (Tina) and Mark (Michelle); grandsons, Will and Pat; brothers, Vic (Loma) and Gary (Karen) Mier; sisters-in-law, Pam (Jim) White and Diana (Mark) Davidson and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her effervescent personality will be sorely missed by all who knew her. A memorial service will be held to celebrate Sharon's life at Cameron Methodist Church, 3130 Franconia Road, Alexandria at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 5, 2015.

It has been too long since you left us, Sharon. I have missed you every day since, as the rest of your family has...five years of only seeing your smiling face in a cherished picture. So much has changed. You would be proud of what your boys have been doing. May God bless you and keep you.

Dear Drew and family,

Please accept my condolences on the loss of your wife and mother.

Sharon is among my favorites from the 40 years that I was at HUD. She was always professional, straight-forward and a team player. She had a great personality. It was always a delight to be around Sharon whether it was in a working situation or just kibbitzing.

I wish you peace and comfort at this sad time.
