I am deeply moved that my sister was liked and loved by so many. Reading the thoughts and encouraging words are a comfort and a testimony to the type of person she was. I miss her very much but know that she is at peace and enjoying the place that God has prepared for her. Breathe freely my sister until we meet again.

We send out our prayers to the buck and Rawls family. Sheila was a very kind and sweet person. I met her when I was very young when her family joined the church where my grandfather, the late Rev. David Durham was the pastor until his untimely passing. We know that Sheila is in great company and we will see her again... Our prayers are also that the family finds comfort in the wonderful memories shared over her life. Love The Durham Family

I did not know you personally, but I knew about you through your sister. She spoke very highly of you, looked up to you, and adored you very much. And I know that if you were anything like your sister, you are an Angel, and will be truly missed. Rest in Peace, no more suffering and pain. My prayers are with the Buck/Rawls/Gailes family for comfort and healing during this time of your lives. Don't dwell on this time with tears of sadness, but with tears of joy . . . She is enjoying life that is better than ours.

"The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple". Psalms 27:1-4 There are times in life when we go through dark valleys and our steps don't seem so sure. But we have the assurance of our loving heavenly Father that He is there to light our way.

And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
Hebrew 11:6
Sheila's faith was incandescent. She kept everyone around her laughing, encouraged and grounded in the fact that our presence here is transient, and all of our struggles are meant to shape and mold us for our final destination at the feet of the Savior.
I cannot imagine the long ride into White Oak without her wry humor and infectious smile to encourage all of us. Andrea Kirk, Co-worker CDRH, fellow vanpool member

Sheila, I will miss you deeply and will forever cherish our friendship. When we became security officers, this is when the friendship began. We had so many fun times that our friendship lead me to becoming employed within the federal government. You introduced me to the different types of food cultures that I still enjoy to this day. When you got your burgundy Subaru, we named her Zippy because we would always be on the go at lunch time and doing other things. We laughed so much about that because Zippy would just go and be so fast! I will forever remember you for your kindness, gentleness and giving soul. You always had this tranquil spirit that would calm anyone. Well now, God has called you home because he needed you most. I won't complain, I will rejoice and forever be greatful to him for introducing me to you. Rest in Peace my friend, my Bud, my Sweet Sheila.

There are times along life's journey that can test the spirit deeply... Though this is certainly one of those times, may you never stop believing that your faith, your inner strength, and the power of God's love will carry you through. As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family, friends and your neighbors.
