Shirley Gitelson "Gigi" (Age 103)
On Friday, May 27, 2016 peacefully passed away after a long and full life. Beloved wife of the late Leon Gitelson. Devoted mother of Marvin and Stanley Gitelson and Caren Mayerson. Adored grandmother to Suzin (Larry) Wright, Jeff (Laura) Mayerson, Sherri (Michael) Malone, Rickey (Randi) Gitelson, Deborah (Tommy) Krauth, Angela (Duncan) Dixson, Mark (Valerie) Gitelson, Michael (Gayle) Fishman, Tod (Michelle) Fishman and the late Micheal Gitelson and 16 dear great-grandchildren. Also survived by loving nieces, nephews and many friends.Graveside services will be on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Judean Memorial Gardens in Olney, MD. Shiva will be observed Tuesday after services at the home of Sherri & Michael Malone.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Michael Robert Gitelson Cancer Research Fund c/o Children''s Hospital in Washington, DC. Arrangements enstrusted to Torchinsky HEBREW funeral home, 202-541-1001.

Please accept my sincere sympathies. Do not underestimate the value of prayer. It is not that prayer simply makes us feel better. The " Hearer of prayer " promises to give holy spirit to his servants who sincerely ask for it. ( Psalm 65 : 2 ) Yes, more than anything else, a relationship with God can help his faithful servants to cope with the death of a loved one.
