On Sunday, September 21, 2025, Shirley Light, passed away. Beloved wife of the late Arnold Light; devoted mother of Steven (Rebecca) Light, Lyn Light Geller (Nate Geller z"l), and Barbara Frederick (Michael Raderman); loving grandmother of seven; cherished great-grandmother of 14. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, 10 a.m. at Judean Chapel, 16225 Batchellors Forest Road, Olney, MD with burial to follow at Judean Memorial Gardens. Family will be observing Shiva on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Community Room: 3310 N Leisure World Blvd, Silver Spring, MD. Shiva will resume at the late residence on Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Hazak Program at B'nai Israel Congregation (bnaiisraelcong.org/donate), Jewish Federation of Greater Washington (shalomdc.org), or Bet Yeladim Preschool Scholarship Fund (betyeladim.org).
