After Uncle Eddie's funeral we all went to Aunt Stella's house. I hardly ever drink. Maybe two beers a year, and I NEVER sing, for good reason. One of you cousins cracked open a bottle of Jameson and the two of us drank it while telling stories and singing Irish songs and military songs. A true Irish wake. Aunt Stella laughed the hardest of all. That evening is one of my fondest memories

Aunt Stella,
Thank you for your bright eyes and bright smile, for being so easy to be with even if had been years since we’d visited, for asking questions in a way that they were actually compliments ...and showed you’d been keeping up with little trees in our big family forest, and for giving most excellent cousins. I love you. Hug and kiss Uncle Eddie for me.
