Stephanie Morrow Obituary

12/20/1952 - 2/12/2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Stephanie Morrow on February 12, 2025.

Stephanie, daughter of William and Janice Fain, was born in Austin, Texas, and raised in the United States and Europe, including years in Paris, Holland, California, and Washington DC. A graduate of Sidwell Friends School in the District, Stephanie earned degrees from Cornell University and Catholic University and spent the majority of her career as a social worker for the City of Alexandria, Virginia.
Stephanie married Robert Morrow in 1979, and the couple raised their daughters in Alexandria before retiring to Red Bank, New Jersey.

Stephanie loved reading, travel, word games, and spending time with her family. A fluent speaker of Spanish and Dutch, she kept in touch with companions from The Netherlands to El Salvador. Her family and friends will miss her caring compassion for others, dedication to her children and grandchildren, as well as her sharp memory for dates and family relationships.

She is survived by husband Robert, daughters Johanna Strobel (Matthew) and Katherine Morrow (Dylan Suher), and four grandchildren.

A memorial visitation will be held at the Thompson Memorial Home in Red Bank on Monday, March 3, 2025 from 2 to 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating in Stephanie's memory to The Fund for Alexandria's Child, which she supported for many years.

Stephanie and I worked together from the `90´s until the day we retired, on the same day. I will remember Stephanie as a generous soul, a person who fought fiercely for what she believed was right for her families in the child welfare system. She is remembered for her strong ethical character and kindness. May all those that love her forever feel her kind and loving presence.
