Not sure what to say?

It's been 9 years now. Hearts never recover from the loss of a child. I never found the words that I thought could buffer or comfort Carol Ann,Earl and family. Words just stumble around in my head.
Sending everything I have never been able to say, now. Late but honest.

I am truly saddened to hear of Stephen's passing. I had the honor of working with him as a volunteer each year at the Garrett A Morgan Transportation Day. "I sure am going to miss parking those busses with you." To the family: May God continue to keep and comfort you.

To the Carr family and Rina,

We share your great loss and sadness at this time. I had the pleasure of coaching Steve in Church softball for maybe 10 years. He threw everything in to those games. He brought his passion for life to the field every single game. He was our pitcher and did as much or more coaching than I did. If we had a March batting practice in the cold. Steve would be there. Sometimes only the two of us. We would recruit people walking by just so we could practice -- and Steve would coach them too. He would yell during games at the umpire "Talk to me Blue!!" coaxing good calls from reluctant umpires or celebrating a good call he had just received.
Steve was enthusiastic, punctual, and totally involved. I will miss him. Good bye Steve. I hope you get to pitch to the big fellow upstairs.

To the Carr family and Rina - As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends as well as the knowledge that Steve will live on in the hearts of all those he touched. He was such a kind and considerate man who was always looking out for others. Our office will not be the same as Steve silently did all the tasks that needed to be done and that many never realized he was doing as he looked out for his co-workers in such a caring and gentle manner. He was also generous with his time and energy; he assisted the Capital Region Chapter of Women in Aviation at the 'Andrews Airshow' and will be remembered for years to come by many.
