Shocked and deeply saddened to learn of Steve's passing. Steve was a remarkable fellow and creator of musical comedy while studying at Washington and Lee University. We were good friends during those years. My condolences to the Danzansky family.

I worked with Stephen on the McCain campaign in 2008. A kind caring smart funny man. I was 30+ years younger but he was very helpful and caring and I will never forget him.

I have known Steve since our early time in the Young Republicans in the 60s. He was always a light and joyous. The obituary is perfect to cover Steve's life. He was a "giver" who would never cease giving. I wish that the years between the 70s and today had taken the opportunity for us to get together. But when I would call I spoke to Joan who would always bring me up to date with a summary of the things going on. He and Joan are in my heart and will always remain there. Love to you both and those you left behind. Noel Sweitzer

Mack McCarter introduced me to Steve around 2014 as he was building a team to launch Community Renewal in the DC METRO area. We became friends sharing a common interest in caring for people in and around DC as native Washingtonians educated in DC Public Schools. We met regularly and Cedar´s Bible study and talked on the phone 1-2 times per month in the evening since we met until Joan´s death. He may be the most kind and principled man I have known. I miss his wit, wisdom, and counsel.
