STEPHEN PAUL GINSBERG (Age 71)
On Tuesday, June 19, Stephen Paul Ginsberg, MD, of Chevy Chase, MD. Beloved husband of Susan Winberg and the late Ruth Ginsberg; devoted father of Laura (Chris) Spielvogel and Karen (Charles) Tompkins; stepfather of Michele (Martin) Hollander and Michael (Roslyn) Winberg; cherished grandfather of Drew, Elena, Sean, Charlotte, Juliet, Ryan, Josh, Rachel, Debra, Jamie and Justin; beloved brother of Suzanne (Bernard) Patrusky; loving uncle of Stefani (Bruce) Langer and Pamela (Ron) Mass. Dr. Ginsberg practiced ophthalmology in Kensington and Rockville, MD. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Adas Israel Congregation, 2850 Quebec St., NW, Washington, DC 20008. Burial immediately following at Adas Israel Cemetery, 1400 Alabama Ave., SE, Washington, DC. Contributions may be made to the Alumni Association of UCSF, 220 Montgomery St., San Francisco, CA 94143-0248, Lombardi Cancer Center at Georgetown University Hospital or Montgomery Hospice, 1355 Piccard Drive, Rockville, MD 20850. Arrangements by HINES-RINALDI FUNERAL HOME under Jewish Funeral Practices Committee of Greater Washington.

Dr. Ginsberg took care of my family & me from 1981 until he retired. He was a wonderful, kind, caring man. I could tell many stories about him, since I saw him twice a year, he did my RK, & he cared for my children & my first wife, but I'll limit myself to just one. The last time I saw him, he told me he was retiring to study medical ethics at GtU. As we chatted a bit about that and studying philosophy in general, I thought, "What a perfect thing for Doc to do--a man digging deeper into the principles which had guided his whole life & career!" Please accept my condolences & those of my family, now scattered across the country. May the Lord bless you & give you peace--as Dr. Ginsberg blessed & gave succor to so many.
