HOLLAND, STEPHEN JOHN (Age 54)
On Sunday, December 9, 2001, "Dutch" was taken from us after a bout with cancer. Thank God that he went quickly with as little pain as possible. (wah, wah, wah)
Beloved father of Natalie "Nat" Holland of Virginia and Katherine "Katie" Berry of Virginia. Also survived by his sister, Virginia "Gen" Harrier of Texas, brother, Mike of Massachusetts and many friends worldwide.
As a master carpenter by trade and talented in so many ways, he was always there for you to add a helping hand to anyone in need. A man of his word, honor and integrity was very important to him. He did what he said he would do, rare in today's world. There was the wrong way, the acceptable way and then there was Dutch's way, which was usually overkill, but always done right. "Perfection lives only in the imagination." He was a spiritual person, a man of God who loved people (most people) and you know who you are and you aren't.
A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, December 16 at The Old Brogue Irish Pub, 760 Walker Rd. (Village Centre), Great Falls, VA between 3 and 5 p.m. Please bring any photos you might have to share. Hawaiian shirts or beach attire requested. His ashes will be spread to the winds on Maui, one of his favorite places on earth, later this year.
In lieu of flowers, which he was not particularly fond of (because he was a blooming idiot), contributions may be made to "Brogue Charities", PO Box 295, Great Falls, VA 22066 in his name.
